Neolith Sintered Stone

No sealing, heat tolerant, UV stable. Compare slab and tile, then see it full size.

Neolith is a sintered stone surface manufactured from clays, feldspar, granite and mineral oxides fused under extreme heat and pressure. The process produces near zero porosity throughout the body of the material rather than only at the surface, giving it high resistance to scratching, heat, and staining along with full UV stability. It is available in slabs and large format tile, and is specified for countertops, flooring, wall cladding, and ventilated facades.

What thickness should I use?

The answer depends on the application.

Choose slabs for countertops and any surface where minimizing seams is part of the design intent.

Choose tile for floors, walls, and wet areas where tile setting is the appropriate method.

Many projects use both — Neolith slab on the countertop and Neolith tile on the floor or backsplash. If that is the intent, confirm the color and finish is offered in both programs before specifying.

What sintering does

Sintering applies heat and pressure to compact mineral particles into a solid mass without fully melting them. It is an accelerated version of the process that produces natural stone over geological time.

Because the material is dense throughout its body rather than sealed at the surface, performance is the same at a cut edge as on the face. Nothing needs to be applied to it, and nothing wears off.

Where Neolith performs

Kitchens. Heat tolerance, scratch resistance, and no sealing needed make Neolith appropriate for both residential and commercial kitchens.

Facades and exterior cladding. UV stability and large format make ventilated facade systems one of Neolith's primary architectural applications.

Flooring. Durable in high-traffic residential and commercial settings, with tile formats suited to standard setting methods.

Wet areas. Low porosity suits shower surrounds and bathroom surfaces, wetrooms or steam showers.

Outdoor kitchens. One of the clearest cases for the material, combining heat tolerance with genuine UV stability and no maintenance.

Choose natural stone when unique material is desired.

FAQs

Clays, feldspar, granite and mineral oxides, sintered under heat and pressure into a solid surface with no resin binder.

No. Its near zero porosity is inherent to the material rather than applied as a coating.

Yes. It is UV stable and colorfast, and is widely specified for facades, exterior cladding, and outdoor kitchens.

The material performs identically in both formats. The decision should be driven by the application. 12mm slabs are appropriate for countertops, vanities and other work surfaces. Large format slabs can also reduce the number of seams needed for the project. 6mm slabs and large format tile are used for floors, walls, shower and tub surrounds, and backsplashes.

Pricing depends on the specific color and format against the specific stone being compared. Visit a showroom for current pricing on both.

Both are highly durable. Quartzite offers unique natural veining; Neolith offers repeatable pattern and larger formats. See the Neolith Slabs page for the detailed comparison.
