Spec-ready sintered stone

Neolith Slabs

Get pricing and finish availability for your color, or see full slabs at any Evolv Surfaces showroom.

Neolith is a sintered compact surface made from clays, feldspar, granite, and mineral oxides fused under extreme heat and pressure. The process produces a material with near zero porosity, high resistance to scratching and heat, and full UV stability, available in slabs and large-format tile. It is specified for kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, flooring, wall cladding, and ventilated facades in both residential and commercial work.

Technical specifications

Every figure below must come from Neolith's current technical dossier before publication. Do not publish estimated values. Wrong specifications on a page aimed at architects and specifiers is worse than no specifications.

What makes sintered stone different

Sintering applies heat and pressure to compact mineral particles into a solid mass without fully melting them. The process is an accelerated version of what produces natural stone over geological time, and it yields a material with near zero porosity throughout rather than only at the surface.

Because the density runs through the body of the slab rather than sitting in a coating, the performance is the same at the surface and at a cut edge. It is also why sintered stone behaves differently from other engineered products, which use resin as a binder and consequently has limited heat tolerance and poor UV stability.

The visual range is broad, from Calacatta-inspired veining through cement and concrete looks to solid colors, with pattern repeatable between slabs.

Choosing your slab

Thickness drives the application. Confirm the full range Evolv Surfaces stocks and what each is intended for. 6mm formats are typically specified for flooring, cladding and vertical surfaces, 12mm or 20mm for countertops and horizontal surfaces.

Pattern is repeatable, which changes how you plan. Unlike natural stone, you can specify Neolith knowing that additional slabs will have consistency. For phased projects and large commercial installations, this removes the sourcing risk that natural stone carries.

Fabrication requires the right shop. Sintered stone needs appropriate tooling and technique. Use a Neolith certified fabricator for your project to ensure the best results.

Care and maintenance

Clean with standard household cleaners and a soft cloth. Neolith's near-zero porosity means it does not absorb liquids, so wine, oil, and coffee wipe away rather than staining.

Sealing is not required. The material's density is inherent rather than applied.

Neolith tolerates heat from cookware without scorching. As with any surface, avoid repeated extreme thermal cycling in a single spot.

For textured finishes, a soft brush reaches into the surface relief more effectively than a cloth.

Neolith vs. Natural Quartzite

Evolv Surfaces is one of few distributors carrying both, and this is the decision a designer is actually making in the showroom.

Variation is the appeal

Choose Neolith when you need predictable durability, large-format continuity, pattern repeatability across many slabs, or a surface for a facade or phased project where sourcing consistency matters.

Choose quartzite when uniqueness of natural stone is the driving point or centerpiece for the project.

FAQs

Yes. It is UV stable and colorfast, and it is widely specified for ventilated facades, exterior cladding, and outdoor kitchens.

No. Its near-zero porosity is inherent to the sintering process rather than applied as a coating, so there is nothing for a sealer to do.

Neolith handles cookware heat without scorching. Confirm the specific thermal ratings against Neolith's technical data for demanding applications.

Thicker formats are standard for horizontal surfaces. Confirm the full range Evolv stocks and discuss the application with your fabricator.

Confirm the current certification with Neolith's technical documentation before stating this on the page.

Neolith has high scratch resistance. As with any surface, cutting directly on it is not recommended.

Yes. Ventilated facade systems are one of its primary architectural applications, and its UV stability and large format suit the use directly.
